Video Surveillance Software and AverMedia Digital Signature

Disclaimer:  Changing your security settings can potentially expose your computer to viruses, and other malicious software.  It is YOUR responsibility to make sure that your computer is secure after the DVR live viewing software has been installed.  You will only have to disable these security settings the 1st time you log in.

You must be logged in to your computer with a user id that has administrator access

From within Internet Explorer, Click on Tools, then Internet Options

Click on the Security Tab

The "Internet" zone should already be highlighted,

Click on the button that says "Custom level..."

Scroll down to ActiveX Controls and plug-ins (There should be around 10 controls that are symbolized by the yellow box with the red and blue sides

Change all of the ActiveX controls to Enable (if it is set to disable or prompt) even if it says it is not secure

If it is already set to Enable, leave it as is.

REMEMBER, YOU WILL HAVE TO DO THIS FOR ALL ACTIVEX CONTROLS

Once all ActiveX controls are set to enable, click on OK

Click on Yes, your are sure you want to change settings for this zone.

Click on the Zone "Local intranet"

Click on the button that says "Custom level..."

Repeat the process for ALL the ActiveX Controls and plug-ins.  Change disable to enable, and prompt to enable.

Click on OK

Click on Yes, your are sure you want to change settings for this zone.

Click on the Zone "Trusted sites"

Click on the button that says "Custom level..."

Repeat the process for ALL the ActiveX Controls and plug-ins.  Change disable to enable, and prompt to enable.

Click on OK

Click on Yes, your are sure you want to change settings for this zone.

Click on the Zone "Restricted sites"

Click on the button that says "Custom level..."

Repeat the process for ALL the ActiveX Controls and plug-ins.  Change disable to enable, and prompt to enable.

Click on OK

Click on Yes, your are sure you want to change settings for this zone.

Click on OK

You will see a message at the top of IE that says "Your current security settings put your computer at risk..."  DO NOT CHANGE THE SETTINGS UNTIL YOU ARE ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL THE DVR SOFTWARE.

Try the installation of the DVR software again.

Once you are able to successfully connect to the DVR, close out of Internet Explorer and reopen it.

Click on the security tab to fix your security settings, click on Fix settings for me.
